Using Smithbucklin Soft Phone
You must VPN before opening the softphone program. Once connected, you can launch Smithbucklin Softphone by double-clicking the shortcut on the desktop, or pressing the windows key on the bottom left of your screen or towards the bottom left of your keyboard and typing "Softphone" or "Smithbucklin" to search for Smithbucklin Softphone.
If the program opens correct it should say "Online" in the bottom-left of the program, and show your extension in the bottom-right of the program. See above image.
Dialing
To place an external call, enter 8 + 1 + the number + the 5 digit client code. Then hit Enter or press the Call button.
- For example: 818005399740 99001
To dial international, enter 8 + 011 + the number + the 5 digit client code. Then hit Enter or press the call button.
To place internal calls, just dial the person’s 4 or 6 digit extension then hit Enter or press the call button.
Finding Extensions in the Directory
You may find an employee’s extension using any of these methods:
- From the Intranet ( http://intranet.smithbucklin.com ).
- Checking the address book within Outlook.
Voicemail
Voicemails will be delivered to you as an email, containing a text transcription of the message and an audio attachment that can be played over your PC or smartphone speakers.
