Windows Updates


1. Press the windows key (circled below) on your keyboard, then start typing "updates" to search. Click on "Check for updates" when it appears, like below.




2. Scroll down and Click Advanced Options, then make sure the slider by "Receive updates for other Microsoft products when you update Windows" is turned on.



3. Finally, hit the back arrow in the top left to get back to the previous screen. You can hit the check for updates button now.









Dell Laptop Updates



Before attempting Dell updates, make sure you are connected to the internet and have your charger plugged into your laptop.


1. Press the windows key (circled below) on your keyboard, then start typing "Dell" to search. Click on "Dell Command | Update" when it appears, like below.






2. On the window that appears, click the "CHECK" button to begin checking for updates.





3. If any updates appear, it will look like the screen below. Hit the "Install" button to begin installing the updates. Do not disconnect your laptop from the internet or the charger. You may be prompted to restart your computer at the end of updates, and it may take up to 15 minutes to reboot (depending on if a BIOS update was found). Do so at your convenience.
